Optimal Filter Length Selection for Universal Filtered Multicarrier Systems

Future wireless networks will use Universal Filtered Multicarrier (UFMC) as a new waveform modulation technique. The UFMC sensibly considers the sub-band filter specifications such order, and shape to combine key benefits of present generation waveforms while averting their disadvantages. Therefore, in UFMC-based systems, it is important pay attention how made. In this paper, configuration adapted according size that symbol generates minimum level interference with frequency selectivity. Also, total caused by inter-carrier (ICI) inter-sub-band (ISBI) was studied finding closed form its change signal length. From analysis, we determined ICI increases ISBI decreases proposed method optimizes length terms interference. By approach, shorter than conventional hence improves utilization. With method, overall signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) improved 1 3 dB.
